The Charleston Metropolitan Area is in the process of developing the first mass transit line in South Carolina. The Lowcountry Rapid Transit (LCRT) will be 21.5 miles long and connect a large segment of our population. Local Council of Governments are working to create the line and add transit-oriented development which will result in dense, walkable communities along the line. This density will help provide ridership for LCRT, and this Missing Middle Housing Study can provide solutions for areas not suitable for such intense development.
