The South Carolina Community Alliance, together with the Aiken Association of REALTORS® and the Keep the Pennies Advocacy Group supported the extension of Capital Project Sales Tax and Education Capital Improvemewnts Sales Tax Questions on the November ballot. This extension will support various infrastructure projects including stormwater projects and building a new public safety headquarters and upgrades to city-owned facilities. The tax renewal is expected to generate around $260 million from May 2026 through April 2033 for Aiken County, North Augusta and small towns and municipalities.
