Horry County Fix Our Roads (2024)

Passed November 5, 2024. Over 57% voting Yes

The South Carolina Community Alliance, together with the Coastal Carolinas Association of REALTORS® and the Horry County Fix Our Roads coalition supported the Fix Horry Roads campaign and extension of the RIDE program on the November ballot. The extension of this initiative will support critical transportation and economic development as well as the long term prosperity of the local community. The county is now able to fund projects itself where in the past it was only possible with federal or state support. This referendum extended the collection period from seven to 25 years and projects collection at nearly $6B. Additionally, for the first time in history, this program includes dedicated funding to fully operate mass transit.
